Protexin Pro Fibre Rabbits and Small Pet is a palatable high-fibre pellet to encourage normal digestive function in rabbits.
The beneficial microorganisms contained in Protexin Pro Fibre occur naturally in the gut of all healthy animals. Probiotics colonise the gut and help exclude potentially pathogenic bacteria. The fibre content of Pro-Fibre is multi-sourced and comprises both digestible and indigestible components. Higher fibre diets produce an increase in stool diameter which is important in triggering the emptying of the analsacs during defaecation.
- Multi-source fibre: High levels of both soluble and insoluble fibre. Rabbits need plenty of fibre in their diet - in fact it is the most important component of what they eat. Insufficient fibre can lead to digestive problems, especially of the hind gut. Rabbits with insufficient fibre in their diet can get loose, soft droppings which may make them prone to flystrike and other conditions.
- Probiotics: The live yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae (CNCM I-4407) 4b1702 to help repopulate the intestine with beneficial micro-organisms.
- Preplex prebiotics: A prebiotic, consisting of fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) and acacia (Gum arabic), to feed and stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria.
